  48. This package contains Power Clock(TM) by Rob Fletcher This
  49. document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  50. features, along with instructions for its installation.  Detailed
  51. documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form, and
  52. is more easily read after installation.

  71. Power Clock is a shareware program.  This evaluation version includes
  72. all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.  You may
  73. use it for up to 30 days, without charge (see PCLOCK.HLP for more
  74. details).  If you like the program, and wish to continue its use after
  75. this evaluation period, you are required to pay for the program (see
  76. ORDER.TXT for more details).  Any fee you may have paid to others
  77. (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a
  78. fee for their copying and distribution services, rather than a payment
  79. for continued use of the program.

  83. ===== Installation =====================================
  84.  
  85. The installation procedure for Power Clock is quite simple.  The
  86. package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the
  87. entire process.  You will need about 5 MB of available disk space
  88. on the hard drive on which you plan to install Power Clock.
  89.  
  90. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  91. Power Clock.
  92.  
  93.  
  94. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  95.  
  96. To install from diskette, you need to perform the following steps.
  97.  
  98. 1) Shut down Power Clock on all workstations.
  99.  
  100. 2) Back up all your data files and the entire 
  101.    Power Clock directory in case you need to go 
  102.    back to the old version.
  103.  
  104. 3)  Place Power Clock distribution diskette "Disk 1 of 1 in the
  105.     appropriate diskette drive.
  106.  
  107. 4) Execute the setup program on the distribution diskette. If you
  108.    purchased the Windows 3.1 version this program is named 
  109.    "PCLOCK16.EXE".  If you purchased the Windows 95 version, this 
  110.    program is named PCLOCK32.EXE.
  111.  
  112.    In Windows 95 select Start, Run. If the diskette is in drive A:, type
  113.    the command, "a:pclock32" and press ENTER.
  114.  
  115. 5) Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  116.    You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  117.    are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  118.    program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the
  119.    Power Clock files to that directory.  It will make no other changes;
  120.    specifically, it will not modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys files.
  121.  
  122. 6) Run the new version.  If any file structures 
  123.    have changed, they will be automatically converted.
  124.

  126. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  127.  
  128. If you downloaded Power Clock from the internet (or received it in the form of
  129. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  130. following steps.
  131.  
  132.    o  Execute the downloaded EXE filehive file(s) in a temporary
  133.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  134.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  135.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  136.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  137.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  138.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  139.       the package.
  140.  
  141.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  142.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  143.       the Power Clock package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the MS-DOS
  144.       command, "c:\tempdir\setup".
  145.  
  146.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  147.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  148.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  149.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  150.       the Power Clock files to that directory.  If you so direct it, the
  151.       installation program will install executable programs and
  152.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  153.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your
  154.       autoexec.bat or config.sys files.
  155.  
  156. When you're satisfied that the installation was successful, you should
  157. delete the temporary directory FROM which you installed Power Clock
  158. (C:\TEMPDIR, in the above discussion), including all its contents.

  161. YOU'RE READY TO GO
  162.  
  163. Once you've completed the installation, Power Clock will be added to the
  164. Windows program manager and will be loaded for you using demo data files.
  165. You should consult the help file by pressing F1 from the Power Clock main
  166. screen. We hope you enjoy the program.

  173.  it before you decide to purchase.  There are no disabled features

  278. for evaluation purposes for a period not to exceed thirty days.  If you
  279. continue using this software after the thirty-day evaluation period,
